G’Vine’s Global Bartender Competition Now Open for Entry

G’Vine has launched a global competition, inviting bartenders from across the world to nominate an inspirational individual.

Entrants can choose a person they once worked alongside, an artist they’ve always admired or even someone that changed their perspective on the world. Those nominated could be contemporary figures, someone famous, a writer, a singer, a chef, their mother, anyone!

The challenge has already gained huge support from leading industry names from all over the world including Gaz Regan, Ryan Chetiwardanya of White Lyan, Alex Kratena of Artesian and Jason Crawley of Australia’s The Drink Cabinet; all of whom have created their own videos, paying homage to an eclectic mix of inspirations, such as Picasso, Dick Bradsell and Derren Brown. All interviews and videos can be found on the Challenge’s site.

To enter, bartenders must make a short video clip explaining their reasons for choosing their inspirational person, as well as creating a signature G’Vine serve, capturing the unique spirit of the individual.

Jamie Walker, Global Trade Director said: “We believe it is important to recognise those people that have challenged the norm and in turn given us the strength to challenge our own perspectives. That’s the ethos our founder Jean Sebastien Robiquet delivers in the production of G’Vine – a traditionally crafted gin, but made from grape distillate & vine flower.”

Winners will be chosen from Australia, Asia, UK, USA, Latin America, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Europe.

The prize has been designed to offer winners a unique money-can’t-buy experience in France – the home of G’Vine – and will include activities that evoke the challenge’s alternative perspectives ethos, such as a hot air balloon ride, Michelin star cooking course, VIP tours and tastings inside Cognac houses, and a session with a master blender in a Parisian perfume house.
