GS1 Launches ‘Next Generation’ Data Solution for Grocery and Liquor

Supply chain and barcode solution, GS1 Australia has successfully migrated existing GS1net user organisations and product catalogues into a new GS1 Australia National Product Catalogue platform. The new platform will provide existing users from multiple sectors, including grocery and liquor, with a ‘next generation’ data synchronisation solution, comprising 36,700 trading partners and 28.6 million registered items.

The National Product Catalogue (formerly GS1net) now stands as one of the worlds’ largest Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) data pools and helps businesses enter, validate, store, maintain and exchange standardised supply chain data,  including product details, pricing and marketing-related information with their trading partners.

Maria Palazzolo, Chief Executive Officer at GS1 Australia said, “This new data synchronisation solution will take the National Product Catalogue user community well into the future, providing suppliers and data recipients with greater functionality and improved usability.”

The new platform is now live and fully compliant with the GDSN.

“One of the key strategies in our project was to ensure a new platform was delivered, with minimal or no impact to the existing user base, many of whom are integrated using middleware software solutions.
