In response to the $3 billion multi-beverage partnership between Beam Suntory and Frucor Suntory known as Suntory Oceania, Gordon Treanor has been appointed as the Licensed Sales Director for Australia.
Treanor’s role is to establish and lead the Alcohol Route to Market team, a unit dedicated to implementing sales, channel, and customer growth strategies in the Australian market.
This appointment is strategically important to the business as Suntory Oceania aims to become the fourth-largest beverage group in Australia and New Zealand by mid-2025.
The partnership boasts an expansive portfolio of over 40 market-leading brands, signalling disruption in the beverage industry by offering a unique multi-beverage portfolio designed to meet the needs of customers and consumers.
Central to this collaboration is a groundbreaking $400 million manufacturing and distribution facility in Ipswich, Queensland—the largest FMCG investment in Australia in the last decade. This facility empowers Suntory Oceania to control its supply chain entirely, unlocking capacity and capability.
Gordon Treanor, with over 25 years of experience in the international beverage sector, brings valuable industry insight. Notably, he played a pioneering role in establishing Lion’s global drinks business in Europe and Asia. His successful integration of three businesses as the Managing Director for Lion – Europe and APAC highlights his strategic leadership.
Treanor’s extensive background includes board roles for notable companies such as Heaps Normal, Remedy Drinks, and Schibello Coffee Group, showcasing his leadership skills and strategic agility across various beverage groups.
Under the Suntory Oceania partnership, Treanor will partner with Beam Suntory Oceania’s Managing Director, Mark Hill and Frucor Suntory Oceania’s Chief Commercial Officer, Drew Fairnham, to establish and deliver a brand-new alcohol commercial function.

Working closely with the Beam Suntory team, Treanor will report to Frucor Suntory Oceania Chief Commercial Officer, Drew Fairnham.
