Mamasita is one of three bars currently representing Victoria in Tequila Herradura’s Mi Casa Su Casa activation in Australia.

As part of the activation, later this year Mamasita will join 11 other venues as an exclusive partner of a barrel of Herradura “Double Barrel” Reposado Tequila. The barrel, named the ‘Australia Casa Select’ was selected by participating venues earlier in April, when they met with Herradura Master Taster and Global Brand Ambassador, Ruben Aceves in Sydney with Brown-Forman (distributor and owner of Herradura in Australia).

Mamasita is already one of the go-to places for agave spirits in Australia, with 100+ tequilas and 50+ mezcals behind its bar, and with the Australia Casa Select Herradura “Double Barrel” Reposado set to join its portfolio, its interest with drinkers is only expected to grow. And Mamasita is excited to be serving it – “It’s nice to be recognised alongside other good venues. We’ll be serving its as quickly as possible – we want people to get to know it ASAP!”, Restaurant Manager at Mamasita, Nicholas Peters said.

The Mexican hot spot offers close to 20 flights of tequila and mezcal, from 20ml or 30ml, all specially designed to complement its restaurant menu. “We like to provide a fun environment for people to eat and drink in”, Nick told drinks bulletin. And one of Mamasita’s favourite houses to serve is of course Herradura, with Plata, Resposado, Añejo and Seleccion Suprema expressions all available behind its bar. In addition, all or any of Mamasita’s margaritas come with the option of being served ‘Mamasita-style’ – with Herradura Plata.

For Mamasita, their love of Herradura lies with the romance of the brand – the last remaining hacienda-made tequila in the world. Mamasita is therefore currently pushing to meet their target in the brand incentive program for a chance to be flown out to Mexico in July to visit the original Casa Herradura Hacienda. In addition, if Mamasita beats the other participating venues in exceeding its target, they’ll be in for a chance to secure a second ticket on the trip and will further receive the actual oak barrel that was used in the secondary ageing process of the Double Barrel Reposado.

100 per cent of the profit raised through the program is being reinvested into hosting the group in Mexico in July, where the venues will be given an exclusive VIP tour of the Casa Herradura Hacienda, including a morning horseback ride into the agave fields, agave harvesting demonstration by the master Jimadores, behind the scenes tour of the distillery and private tasting with Master Taster and Master Distiller.

“Mamasita is delighted and excited to be a part of the Herradura Double-Barrel program!” Nick said. Flights of Herradura will be top of the menu at Mamasita over the coming weeks to help the venue meet that all important target.

Good luck!
