Rum Masterclass at The Keel
Over the past few weeks, Sydney rum bar The Keel has played host to a number of exclusive rum masterclasses prior to its public launch in the coming weeks.
The masterclasses are being hosted by Sydney bartender and rum specialist Tom Bulmer and cover everything from the spirit’s history, to its production methods, to the individual ‘terroir’ of each rum producing nation.
The rums included in the tasting are:
- Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 year old
- Dos Maderas 5+5
- Appleton Estate Rare Cask 12 year old
- El Dorado Cask Strength Single Still 2009
- FNQ Iridium 5 year old
- Ratu Spiced Rum 5 year old
The rum masterclasses are hosted by The Keel rum bar, the original home of rum in Sydney. The Keel functions as a charity bar, with 50% of its profits supporting the rewilding of the Daintree Rainforest, returning custodianship to Australia’s first nation’s people.
