Curatif has collaborated with award-winning Melbourne cocktail bar Black Pearl to create The Toreador.

“The idea to collaborate with Black Pearl was born out of the current COVID-19 shutdown of the on-premise hospitality industry,” Managing Director of Curatif, Matt Sanger, said.

“Coming from a hospitality background we really wanted to support our industry during these incredibly difficult times, so when we heard of bars starting to do home-delivery cocktails we put the call out to see how we could help.”

Matt Linklater, Bar Manager at Black Pearl, jumped at the opportunity. And The Toreador was born.

“I see it this way,” said Linklater, “The Toreador is like the margarita’s little cousin, you know, the one that’s smarter and better at sports.”

Predating the Margarita by 16 years, The Toreador is a forgotten classic that Curatif has brought back to life in a can.

The drink mixes Tequila Tromba, lime, Ilegal Mezcal and Joseph Catron Apricot Brandy.

The Toreador joins the existing Curatif range of classic cocktails: Negroni, Espresso Martini, Margarita and Bloody Mary.
