Coopers triumphs at the 2018 RABCA awards

Coopers has taken home a swag of awards at this year’s Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider Awards (RABCA).

The South Australian brewer won five major awards, including Most Outstanding Beer in Show and the Champion South Australian Beer, both for the much-loved and revered Sparkling Ale. Coopers Mild Ale was named as the Champion Reduced Alcohol Beer and, to cap it all off, Coopers was crowned the Champion Large Brewery.

Coopers proudly noted: “Against fierce competition, Coopers Sparkling Ale has taken top honours at the Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider awards being awarded Most Outstanding Beer in Show!”

RABCA chief judge Tony Jones says the awards, run by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA, recognise the importance of Australia’s $7 billion beer and cider industry.

“This year’s awards attracted 252 entries from 54 brewers of all sizes from across Australia and New Zealand, with all entries judged blind by an expert industry panel,” he noted.

“The awards aim to recognise the importance, quality, uniqueness and promotion of the Australian beer industry.

“These awards continue to provide an opportunity for brewers to reach new markets both in South Australia and
interstate and to benchmark themselves against other brewers.”
