Bundaberg Rum has again scooped Gold and Silver at the Queensland Tourism Awards.

The distillery saw off state-wide competition to put the Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience firmly on the map as the best Queensland has to offer.

The Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience picked up the Gold award for Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Breweries Experiences, as well as Silver in the Tourism Attraction category.

Bundaberg Rum Queensland Tourism Awards

This year marks the fifth Queensland Tourism Awards win for Bundaberg Rum, where in 2018, the Distillery also scooped Gold in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category. The 2019 accolades mean that the distillery will enter as a finalist representing Queensland at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Canberra early next year.

Duncan Littler, Bundaberg Rum D2C Marketing & Experience Manager, said: “We are beyond thrilled to be awarded Gold and Silver at the Queensland Tourism Awards for a second year running, continuing to establish the Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience as a must-do attraction for locals and international visitors.

“Bundaberg Rum comes from humble roots, and yet it continues to be recognised across Australia, which makes us incredibly proud. The awards really highlight the fantastic passion and energy our team share with  every guest every day, making the Bundaberg Rum Distillery the place it is today.

“We are looking forward to seeing what 2020 has in store for this iconic Australian heritage brand.”

Seppeltsfield best winery

It follows Seppeltsfield Wines winning the 2019 Premier’s Award for Service Excellence as well as 2019 Best Winery, Distillery or Brewery in South Australia, at the 2019 South Australian Tourism Awards.

Contributing to the wins were new initiatives including an immersive ‘Village Discovery Tour’ involving the Cellar Door as well as village partners JamFactory, FINO restaurant and Vasse Virgin, together with the release of the new Seppeltsfield branding and premium still wine range, a 167-year homecoming for the historic brand.
