Lyre’s, award-winning non-alcoholic spirits brand, has announced the launch of the Classico, its first full size bottle of non-alcoholic Sparkling Wine.

Paying homage to the beauty of classic Italian sparkling wines, Classico is set to be the perfect sparkling alternative ahead of the celebration season as consumers continue to moderate their alcohol consumption.

“We’re very excited to launch our Classico ahead of Christmas and the New Year. It’s a great premium option for those looking to enjoy all that a sparkling wine offers, minus the alcohol. We’re seeing a moderation trend sweeping across all global markets, and with this comes an emphasis on health and wellness.

“IWSR forecasts that no-and-low alcohol volume in Australia will grow by 16 per cent from 2020 to 2024; so, there’s no doubt that there’s a growing demand for sophisticated alcohol-free drinks, and we are confident Classico will be well-received by those who are jumping on the trend,” says Mark Livings, Lyre’s Co-founder and CEO.

The Lyre’s Classico uses the finest all-natural essences and extracts, sourced from around the globe and blended to create a distinct and evocative flavour, as determined by Lyre’s flavour architect, David Murphy.

“A glass of bubbles is an absolute staple for any celebration, whether it be a birthday, anniversary, or the holiday season. Our Lyre’s Classico evokes a classic grape and melon bouquet with a suitably dry finish, set to elevate any drinking occasion,” says Mr Murphy.

Classico was crafted by meticulously identifying the distinct aromas, tastes and visual appearance you find in well-known Italian sparkling wines. With aromas of fresh peach, melon, and granny smith apple, it is best served chilled in a flute or coupette. If you’re feeling adventurous, add Lyre’s Italian Spritz, soda and orange for a refreshing non-alcoholic Amalfi Spritz.

Mr Murphy’s extensive experience as a sommelier was critical during the creation of Classico with a focus on creating a sparkling alternative that isn’t just great on its own but has the complexity and mouthfeel needed for matching with food.

Endeavour Group recently reported that sales of non-alcoholic drinks have increased more than 83 percent in the past 12 months and on-prem venues are seeing a similar trend.

While Jimmy Truong, co-owner of The Matriarch in Queensland, says, “The rise of the non-alcoholic drinkers has us constantly searching for new products to enhance the true Matriarch experience, and the non-alcohol range Lyre’s have crafted is fantastic.”

The 750mL is available at a cost of $14.99 RRP online at lyres.com.au and Sans Drinks, and in David Jones stores across Australia. It will also be rolling out in Woolworths from next year.

Classico Is also available in a convenient 250ml can, which has recently been awarded Gold by The Spirits Business (2021), Silver in the NY International Spirits Competition (2021), and Bronze in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2021).
