After opening its first virtual bar in the UK last week, BrewDog is hoping to bring the concept to Australia.

The first ever BrewDog Online Bar session was held last Friday and attracted 1000 punters.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “Community has always been at the absolute core of what we do. And the role that community, and great beer play in our society is now more important than ever.

The brewery added: “Thank you so much if you shared a beer with us, this is just the beginning.”

BrewDog is in the process of setting up BrewDog virtual bar sessions for every BrewDog bar in UK, US, Australia and Germany to give locals and regulars a chance to reconnect and share a beer.

Additionally, BrewDog’s Brisbane brewery DogTap, is also now on UberEATS for food delivery and has introduced a drive-thru service.

“Pub in a Box” launches

Meanwhile, East London brewery Signature Brew is launching ’The Pub in a Box’ that includes its core range of beers, beer glasses, beer mats, a vinyl record, a pub quiz, Spotify playlists curated by music journalists to accompany each beer, and pub snacks.

“We appreciate you might not be able to head to the pub right now, so we thought we’d bring the pub to you,” the brewery said.

“These are available throughout the UK. If you’re eligible for local deliver, we’ll be hand delivering from the brewery, hiring musicians who have had their tours cancelled to help us get beer to your home.”

Signature Brew Co-Founder Sam MacGregor said: “We think it’s best to remain calm, carry on with life, support local and to support artists however we can, without being alarmist but with a good eye on what the powers that be, advise us to do. We’re planning one hell of a piss–up in a brewery when all of this blows over.”
