BACARDÍ has collaborated with talent from some of Sydney’s most beloved bars to home deliver Mojito packs to consumers.
Partnering with Jimmy Brings, leading bartenders from iconic bars Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Swinging Cat, Stitch Bar and Double Deuce Lounge came together in a short video to demonstrate how to recreate the classic mojito and inspire those at home.
The mixologists have also shared their favourite twist on a Mojito, echoing the global BACARDÍ ‘Do What Moves You’ campaign, which celebrates self-expression, individuality and invites everyone to dance and party.
With almost 10 years’ experience behind the bar, Alissa Gabriel (above) from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’s favourite spin on a Mojito is an Old Cuban. Adding a touch of polish and luxury to fun and fresh classic, Alissa uses dark rum, bitters and a finishing touch of champagne.
Keiren Took (pictured main) from Swinging Cat is missing the amazing buzz and energy of bar work, but believes ‘turning up the tunes and having a group chat with you friends, with a drink in hand is the only way to replicate this nowadays.’ He turns to coconut water and Sour Cherry syrup to give his take on a Mojito a bright and robust twist.
Hailing from the United Kingdom, Ross Appleby from Stitch Bar has always been a Mojito guy, reflecting back on his college days he would create his own version of the cocktail, refusing to give in to cheaper alternative drinks’. His twist on the classic includes golden caster sugar, golden rum and a dash of green apple juice in replacement of soda.
New to the Sydney bar scene, Alicia Clarke from Double Deuce’s twist on a Mojito always includes a bit of fresh fruit, her favourite – watermelon. An equilibrium of sweet, citrus and herbaceous mint flavours intended to complement the rum.
At a time when the hospitality industry remains indefinitely on pause, Sydney’s bars are hoping the video can bring the exciting and playful atmosphere of their venues into people’s homes.
Delivered in 30 mins the BACARDÍ Mojito Kits will be available for delivery in Sydney from May 1 including a complimentary Mojito Jug with any BACARDÍ purchase – while stocks last.
