Archie Rose Distilling Co first ever Australian spirit to sponsor Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival

Archie Rose Distilling Co has signed as Official Gin Partner to Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, the first ever Australian spirit to be a sponsor of the world-renowned event.

Running from 19 February – 7 March and culminating in the parade at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 6 March, Archie Rose will create two customised Bottled Cocktails to mark the occasion, featuring labels by queer artist Ashley Ronning, and sold via the Archie Rose Bar & Cellar Door in Rosebery, Sydney as well as other venues and bottle shops.

Bringing the parade to life beyond the SCG, Archie Rose will also be working with Mardi Gras to activate venue viewing events around Australia and delivering the customised Mardi Gras Bottled Cocktails for small viewing parties at home.

“We’re immensely proud to be sponsoring Mardi Gras – as a Sydney born and bred brand, we’re more than aware it’s the biggest and longest-standing global event hosted in Sydney,” says Archie Rose head of hospitality, Harriet Leigh.

“More personally for many of the Archie Rose team such as myself, who proudly claim their part in the LGBTQIA+ acronym, this is a lifelong dream. LGBTIQA+ team members across all departments at Archie Rose will be very proudly raising a cocktail together at the SCG in March.

“After the loss of all events in 2020, it’s just as exciting for our straight colleagues, who will be joining us as proud allies, dear friends, and delighted Sydneysiders. The Mardi Gras team have done an extraordinary job in adapting the event this year to suit the current situation and we’re just stoked to be one part of what’s going to be a beautiful celebration of diversity.”

“Archie Rose’s continual encouragement to support an open, collaborative and inclusive work environment, as well as their support for the wider LGBTQI+ community makes us proud to announce Archie Rose as our new partner for the 2021 Mardi Gras Festival,” said Mardi Gras CEO, Albert Kruger.

Archie Rose Creative Drinks Manager, Rocky Hair has created two cocktails “Big Daddy” and “Ex On The Beach” – celebrating the spectrum of individuals from the community in a loving and playful way. Available via the Archie Rose website, cellar door and select independent bottle shops and bars from early February.

Grainshaker Australian Vodka takes up tennis partnering with Australian Open

The Australian Open has joined forces with local Melbourne brand Grainshaker Australian Vodka as Official Vodka Partner in a multi-year partnership.

Produced in Melbourne by Top Shelf International, Grainshaker is a premium Australian vodka that was released to the market in October 2020.

The Australian Open 2021 (AO) is proud to support local, emerging Australian brands, such as Grainshaker Australian Vodka, with the tournament’s food and beverage hospitality offerings across the Melbourne Park precinct.

“Part of our vision for the AO this year was to play our role in promoting the best Melbourne and Victoria had to offer, in terms of food, beverages and experiences,” said Tennis Australia Chief Revenue Officer, Ben Slack.

“Grainshaker is an innovative local Melbourne brand and is a great example of this.”

The Grainshaker Australian Vodka Bar promises to be the spot to be seen for avid tennis fans at the AO. Conveniently located within the MCA Zone near the Western Courts, it will be the ideal place to catch a drink with friends in between all the on-court action.

“The Australian Open is recognised around the world for the quality of its customer-focused experience and we’re thrilled to join an event of this international standing in our own backyard,” said Top Shelf International Chief Executive Officer Drew Fairchild.

“We are bringing Grainshaker to life with a sense of fun and excitement. Grainshaker is a premium Australian Vodka that takes the best of local produce and process – the unique character of Australian grains combined with TSI’s distilling expertise and an Australian attitude – to create a range of premium, hand-crafted, health conscious vodka products that are inclusive, fun and fit perfectly into the Australian way of life. From the silo to the serve, it’s vodka the Australian way.”
