Archie Rose Distilling Co’s Rye Malt Whisky has been named World’s Best Rye Whisky at the World Whisky Awards in London overnight.
“It’s simply incredible news at a time when our team need it most,” said Archie Rose Founder, Will Edwards.
“Our team continues to work incredibly hard in extremely difficult conditions, with their focus now shifting to producing as much hand sanitiser as possible to boost supplies and support the re-deployment of as many of our 14+ bar team who were stood down as a result of the recent government enforced bar closures – so to hear that we have won World’s Best Rye Whisky, is unbelievable.
“It’s a huge credit to our Master Distiller, Dave Withers, and our whole production team, who are so incredibly passionate about making innovative, malt-forward, Australian whiskies, and a beautiful and timely reminder that we’ll all eventually get through this and get back to what we know and love.

The World Whisky Awards are part of The World Drinks Awards – global awards selecting the very best in internationally recognised styles of drinks.
Judges tasting notes of Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky included “an apple-led nose with dried apples and dry cider, some anise, caraway and toasted bread crust. Palate has a thick, almost creamy texture. Spiced sponge, light ginger and star anise. Initial sweetness dries out with a medium, nutty, dry fruit finish.
