Returning for its second year, Tales Catalyst by Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOCF) is an event and awards ceremony dedicated to recognising individuals who have positively contributed to making the global drinks industry a more inclusive and equal environment.

Two awards will be presented at the 2024 event, a U.S. Honoree and an International Honoree. The winners will be chosen by the Tales Catalyst Committee Members in accordance to specific application criteria.

“The Tales Catalyst Committee is looking for those boundary-pushers to honour,” said Robin Nance, Tales Catalyst Co-Chair.

“We want to recognize the folks who have their hearts rooted in the spirits industry and are driving change in diversity and inclusivity.”

TOCF, a New Orlean’s-based non-profit, is the global leader in spirits education and has long played a trailblazing role in tackling key issues faced by the industry. The organisation is now 22 years old and directly contributes to improving the health of the hospitality industry through its carefully crafted programs.

To be eligible for the international Tales Catalyst Honoree award, applicants must reside outside of the United States, serve as a leader and mentor, and be an individual whose professional and personal accomplishments have directly shaped the beverage landscape, helping to open pathways for future leaders to follow. Last years International Honoree winner was Anistatia Miller, co-author of Spirituous Journey: A History of Drink, a two-volume book which documented the history of history of spirits and mixed drinks from 7000 BC through to the mid 20th century.

The two Tales Catalyst Honorees for 2024 will be celebrated at a special event during the TOTC conference from July 21 to July 26 and will be centred around the theme ‘Inspire.’

More information can be found on the COTF website. People wishing to submit an application for Tales Catalyst Honoree either for themselves or for someone else can do so via the following link. The application period will close on March 18.
