ALDI has upped its festive offering from last year’s wine and beer advent calendars, adding Christmas gin crackers and baubles to the mix.
The supermarket notes: “It’s no secret though that the spirit of the season is gin. That’s why this year we have created a few more gin-focused products including baubles and crackers.
“What’s not to love about a Christmas tree decorated in gin?”
The Lakes Christmas Gin Baubles set is priced at $34.99, with six baubles containing Gin, Sloe Gin Liqueur and Damson Gin Liqueur.
(There’s also a Vodka Baubles set features six baubles filled with Vodka, Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur and Espresso Vodka Liqueur.)
Gin baubles first took the internet by storm before Christmas 2016. It took just 82 seconds for Edinburgh-based distillery Pickering’s Gin to sell out of stock.
An estimated 15,000 customers crashed the company’s website when the decorations – each containing a double measure of gin – went on sale.
Each of the ALDI Christmas Gin Crackers ($39.99) has its own individual miniature 50ml bottle of premium British gin inside.
ALDI also has a 12 Gins of Christmas Gift Pack, priced at $59.99, which counts down the 12 days of Christmas with samples of 50ml bottles of gin from around the world.
The popular Wine Advent Calendar ($79.99) is also back, featuring 24 delicious bottles of 187-200ml French wine including sparkling, white, rose and red varietals.
And for the beer fans, there’s a Christmas Beer Advent Calendar $59.99 with 24 different beers from around the world. Beer drinkers can also enjoy a 12 Days of Craftmas Pack $39.99, featuring Aussie-made craft beer.
All of the above go on sale November 13.
